Jen P., Jun 8, 2009, 1:50PM EDTHi Pam!
I'm so sorry that I haven't gotten back to you sooner - I have been super busy at work for the past month or so, but things are finally settling down and I wanted to thank you for your nice note. Quincy is still doing very well (still breaths a bit loud, but no AP and hardly any coughing now) and I'm glad that our 'story' could help you in making the decision for surgery with Bosco. It's always a huge risk, but as you said I think they thank us every day. Quincy and I have spent the last few weekends at the beach, and while he can't really swim anymore he still splashes around in the surf and is actually able to run and chase the ball again. I hope Bosco is doing just as well - good luck!!

SANJA PAHOLE, Jun 5, 2009, 11:40AM EDTHi Pam. Thank you for asking for my big boy. We did go ahead with the surgery on Tuesday and it lasted a long time- 3 hours. His larynx was completely paralyzed (after he scoped it) and the surgery went on. He did great, amazing old tough boy! We even took him home the same evening as his surgeon felt he'd do much better in his own home than being in the hospital. His size was a bit of concern in the hospital ( he is 182 lb) and he could not fit any kennel, so they made a great bed on the floor in dog's ward and they just kept him there, no leash, no restraints of any kind. he was so drowsy and groggy, so we had to carry him out in the car. So far, and it has been three days, he is doing great, he is eating and drinking ( a bit funny with his tongue somehow aside...) but no cough, vomiting or temperature. We are anyway used to feed him by hand while he is on the floor, lieyng as he is so heavy and already old to hold his own weight for long time- remember that the life expectancy for a Saint is 8-10 years. We love him so much and he looks so funny with his shaved wrinkly skin, but so soft and cute- pink with some dark dots! His bark is , well, way different, like some alieanted sound, but...he is happy and his breathing has improved drastically! He still pants a lot (its hot now, and doesn't like it at the best!) but we run fans, air conditions and try to keep him cool and quiet. He seems thankful, and we are blessed and thank ful for any and every day he is with us. Thank you, and cheers! Sanja

Vicki M., May 26, 2009, 6:42PM EDTHi Pam, I am so happy to hear Bosco is doing well. My Lillie was just diagnosed three weeks ago, and we are preparing for surgery. It's pretty frightening, but hearing success stories makes the decision a little easier to make.
Vicki
